In a video interview reflecting on the first decade of the Internet, he remarked on the power of ideas: “When you spread information, you create demand for it.” In their eulogy, the Electronic Frontier Foundation excerpts from his essential " Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace" in which he shares his vision of the Internet as “a world that all may enter without privilege or prejudice accorded by race, economic power, military force, or station of birth. We mourn the loss of John Perry Barlow, a visionary since the early days of the Internet, and one of our first fellows, who passed away this week.
